Our Rehabilitation Program is designed to evaluate and educate each patient in order to maximize their independence. It is our goal at CCOH to attain each patient’s highest level of restorative rehabilitation and to help regain their highest level of function. The Care Center of Honolulu specializes in three types of rehabilitation: Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy.
Some health issues make it difficult to accomplish everyday physical tasks. Physical therapy can assist to improve and restore physical function and help regain muscle strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance.
Our speech therapists are trained in the treatment of speech, voice, and language disorders resulting from stroke, cerebral palsy, or brain injury.
Patients recovering from injury who have memory, attention, or problem-solving deficits or who are experiencing musculoskeletal, mobility, or cognitive changes look to our occupational therapists for assistance in regaining skills of daily living.
Our rehab team is an interdisciplinary team consisting of doctors; licensed nurses; physical, occupational, and speech therapists; social workers; activity staff; and registered dieticians. Each team member plays a key role in assisting each resident to achieve their highest level of function, with the ultimate goal of returning the patient to their daily lives.
